A National Commissioner of the Independent National electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Okey Ibeanu, has just been invited by the State Security Services for questioning. He is to appear at 2pm today.
His invitation, according to sources, may not be unconnected with #NigeriaDecides2019 and the present election postponement.
It was further revealed that the commussioner has come under the radar of the DSS in the past week for reasons yet to be ascertained. It was also revealed that his house in Enugu was broken into, his car vandalized and his laptop and IPAD vanished mysteriously.
Ibeanu believes that the DSS invitation is just about intimidating him on the job as his brief letter suggests.
“I’ve just been invited by the State Security Services to their offices tomorrow (today). I believe it is all about intimidating me. I believe they have been after me for a while.”
