Top Stars Mourn Broadcaster, Tosin Bucknor, her final hours


There were torrents of tears and sadness as confirmation emerged that On Air Personality, Tosin Bucknor has died.

Top celebrities and other Nigerians took to their social media pages to.oay tribute to the Inspiration FM OAP who acccording to her elder sister, famous events planner, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe died of complication related to sickle cell anaemia.

“My heart is heavy, but in allthings we give thanks to God. My darling sister and besto Tosyn passed away last night due to complications from sickle cell. Love you”.


It is also learnt that the late Bucknor’s husband, Aurelien Boyer, found her unresponsive in her room last night when he got back home from work and she was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Prior to her death, she was an On-Air-Personality, vlogger, actress, singer and was a staff of Inspiration FM where she hosted her own morning talk show.

The 37-year-old studied Law at the University of Lagos and the Nigerian Law School but she had always been attracted to writing, talking, acting and singing. She recently celebrated her 1st year wedding anniversary to her husband.

Meanwhile, The Boss can authoritatively reveal that Tosin has been managing the sickle cell disease for years.Only that a few months ago she fell very ill.

We were told that as a result of the illness is that she travelled to the UK and was there for many weeks.

She came back only last week and many believed the worst was over only for her to lose the sadly lose the battle.

Meanwhile, of team of Public Speaking Advocates and Conflict Resolution Consultants, JAW JAW Africa, has commiserated  with the family of Ace Broadcaster, Tosin Bucknor, on the loss of “area mama” as she is fondly called.
The Management of Jaw Jaw Africa further noted that Tosin was an exemplary public speaker who obviously believed in  dialogue as opposed to violence.
The team made this known in a release made available to journalist on Tuesday.
The statement which was signed by the initator, Victor Eniola MARK, reads in part:
“The Management of JAW JAW AFRICA received the shocking news of the death of Ace broadcaster and Public Speaker, Tosin Bucknor.
It is important to state clearly that this is a great loss for the African continent.
‘Area Mama’ was an exemplary Public Speaker who believed in dialogue in place of violence.
African youths must begin to take a cue from the broadcast carreer of tosin.
We must begin to realise that Public speaking is a viable tool for conflict prevention and resolution.
At a time like this, we must continue to commiserate with the Family while praying that God gives them the strength to bear the loss.”
