The Pro-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Wale Babalakin, has said that for the Nigeria universities to survive, it needs appropriately N2 trillion per annum.

Prof. Babalakin was speaking Monday at the Nigeria Psychology Association (NPA) event presently taking place at Ade Ajayi auditorium, UNILAG.

He mentioned that education must be funded from government and other sources, and as a result the academic sector should not wholly depend on the government funding which is inadequate.

Babalakin was speaking as a backdrop of the recent strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
