Agege LGA Gives Free Medical Screening to 650 Residents

More than 650 persons have received free medical screening in the just concluded medical exercise organized by the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Mr. Ganiu Kola Egunjobi, in conjunction with Grassroots Health Initiative and 1 Dokita United Kingdom.
The screening exercise which involves blood pressure and sugar test, HIV screening and counseling, general medical examination, health talks among others was carried out penultimate weekend at the council secretariat.
Speaking on the medical outreach, the council Boss Egunjobi clarified the motive behind the free health programme, saying that “not everyday has the capacity to bear the cost of hospital expenses.”
He added “this is just the beginning, the next one will be bigger than this”.
He further advised the gathering on the need for regular medical check-up so as to ascertain their health status.
The council’s Medical Officer, Dr. A. A. Akintayo, in his remarks, commended the council Boss on the initiative.
“Mr Chairman has done well, most especially in area of health, our people are grateful for this gesture.
“We are Oliver Twist, we beg our Charman for more,” he said.
