In spite of agreement and concluded arrangement as regards the use of the Eagle Square for the Presidential declaration of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, the management of the complex, Abuja International Conference and Eagle Square, Integrated Facility Management Services Ltd, has cancelled the arrangement at the very last minute.
In a letter signed by the Facility Manager of the complex, Mr. Usman Mukhtar Raji, and made available to The Boss, the company said the reason behind the cancellation of the arrangement is because the date fell on a week day, and will surely disrupt the activities in the secretariat.
“We are sorry to inform you that the event can no longer hold on the said date because it is a political event and the 29th of August, 2018, happens to be a work day, as it would disrupt the usual work flow of the Federal Secretariat,” the letter stated.
The company however, apologise for the oversight on their part, while regretting the inconvenience they may have caused the campaign team of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The complex which cost the sum of Two Million Two Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred Naira (N2, 217, 600), has already been paid in full and receipt dated August 17, 2018 issued before the unexpected cancellation.

It would be recalled that Senator Kwankwaso has defended his decision to make his declaration in Abuja instead of his home state, Kano, saying the event is a national one and Abuja is more central.
Below are more documents obtained by The Boss as regards the renting of the complex and the subsequent cancellation.
