Kate Henshaw: 47 and Still Trendy

On Thursday, Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw turned 47 to the surprise of many who do not know her real age. The young woman of 1993, who suddenly dropped into limelight with the lead role of When the Sun Sets, is still that same ‘young woman’ today – 25 years after.
Henshaw was born in Cross Rivers State, the oldest of four children. After completing her primary and secondary school in Lagos and Calabar, she spent one year at the University of Calabar reading remedial studies, and then majored in Medical Microbiology at the school of medical lab science, LUTH (Lagos Teaching Hospital) in Lagos.
In 1993, she auditioned for the lead role in the movie “when the sun sets” and was handed the role, that was her first appearance in a major Nollywood movie. Over the years, she has starred in 45 Nollywood movies.
In 2008, the movie “Stronger Than Pain” won her the Africa movie academy award for the best actress. She is currently the face of Onga seasoning and also a judge on Nigeria’s got talent.
She is a single mother, having been divorced from her husband – Nuttal
