Ovation Carol 2018 Hits Ground Running, Promises High Octane Entertainment

The yearly mega charity concert popularly known as Ovation Carol, and hosted by the Ovation Media Group, publishers of Africa’s best celebrity journal, Ovation Magazine, is billed to hit the city of Lagos this weekend. The event is precisely taking place on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the prestigious Eko Convention Centre of the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This year’s show is being sponsored by the Esther Ajayi Foundation with the magnanimous epitome of charity and godliness, Reverend Esther Abimbola Ajayi, the Founder of Love of Christ Generation (C&S) Church, Clapham, England, at the helm of affairs.

Leading the army of entertainers and performers at the 2018 mega show, is the one and only Omo Baba Olowo (OBO), Davido with support artists of no mean feats including sonorous gospel singer, Sinach, Sammie Okposo, Yinka Ayefele, and Nonso Bassey.

Others are the multi-talented performer, Falz the Bahd Guy; smooth sailing Mr. Eazi, crowd puller, Burna Boy, Adekunle Gold, Teni, Mayorkun, Zeynab and Trill Tega.

While Big Bolaji will lead the praise session, DJ Cuppy will do what she does best on the wheel of steel, and not forgetting DJ Femo. Others are Vermis Bakare, Twizzy, and Jire.

The 2018 show will also be featuring a fashion show where A-list designer, Simi Ajayi, is expected to set the runway on fire with exquisite designs donned by beautiful women.

With its usual theme of ‘It’s all about hope’ the Ovation carol will also be dishing out goodies as is its tradition to deserving Nigerians. Among others, it will empower deserving young entrepreneurs, who will be announced on the night.

Above, the fiesta will witness the induction of personalities into the Ovation Hall of Fame. Recall that Dr. John Mahama and Reverend Esther Ajayi were inducted into the hall of fame the previous year.

Expected to grace this year’s event are the former President of Ghana, Dr John Dramani Mahama; Founder of Esther Ajayi Foundation, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi; Chairman of Forte Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola; CEO of UT Financial, Mr. Ade Adebajo; Governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Jimi Agbaje; Social Democratic Party, Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse; captains of industries, royal fathers and many more.

For the past 11 years, Ovation Carol has showcased itself as arguably the biggest Pan African year end event featuring top and rising stars from the African continent and beyond.

‘We Finally Lost Him’, AGN Confirms Junior Pope’s Death

The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has confirmed the death of Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope.

The actor and three of his colleagues were coming back from a movie location in a boat when they fell into Anam River in Anambra on Wednesday.

Rollas took to his instagram page on Thursday to disclose the sad development as he wrote, “It is so so sad that our joy was shortlived.

“My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers. Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail.

“God knows the best. We finally lost him,” he said.

Junior Pope joined the Nollywood industry in 2006, and started attending movie auditions and acting as a minor character in movies.

He usually played the role of a bodyguard, palace attendant, and servant in movies.

In 2007, he rose to fame after acting in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Secret Adventures”, a movie directed by Tchidi Chikere.

He acted in more than 150 Nollywood movies which include: “Secret Adventures”, “Mad sex”, “Bitter Generation”, “Vengeance of Bullet”, “The Cat”, “The Generals”, “Wrong Initiation” among others.

I’m No Longer Cut Out for Marriage, Having Kids – Iyabo Ojo

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has said that she is no longer cut out for marriage or having kids, stressing that her now is only for enjoyment.

Iyabo Ojo, a divorcee, expressed her intention not to seek marriage with her current partner, music executive Paul Okoye, also known as Paulo, saying their realtionship is for companionship.

Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared, “Marriage – done and dusted. Had kids – done and dusted. Raised my kids – done and dusted. Next stage: Enjoyment! Enjoyment! Enjoyment!”

She added that people should, however, do what makes them happy and works for them.

“This is me. Do you ….. do what makes you happy and what works for you,” she wrote.

Iyabo Ojo is a prominent Nigerian actress, filmmaker, and entrepreneur.

She has been active in the Nigerian film industry, often referred to as Nollywood, for many years.

Ojo has appeared in numerous movies and has gained recognition for her talent and versatility as an actress. Apart from her acting career, she has also ventured into film production.

Veteran Nollywood Actor, Amaechi Muonagor Dies at 61

Nollywood legend, Amaechi Muonagor, has reportedly passed on. He was 61.

The actor suffered kidney failure and has been on dialysis.

His demise on Sunday came just few days after a video, where he was soliciting funds for Kidney transplant went viral.

His death comes weeks after another Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu, died.

No official statement has yet been released.
