Why You Should Attend AWLO’s 9TH Conference in Accra, Ghana- Elisha Attai

African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO) which is aimed at equipping the 21stcentury woman with the right tools for leadership in all spheres of life has chosen Accra, Ghana as host city for its 9th annual conference. 
AWLO Founder, Hon. Elisha Attai, revealed at a media parley in Lagos, Nigeria that the organization was elated to return to Accra, the city were the very first edition of AWLC was held and he promised that participants who attend the Conference scheduled for March 29th– April 1, 2017, at the Swiss Spirit Hall,  Alisa Hotel & Suites Accra will have a rewarding and intellectually-stimulating experience.
He explained that the conference theme :”African Women: Unleashing The Power, Inspiring Greatness” was carefully chosen as follow up of last year’s session where the focus was to show that women “Have Got The Power”.
“We intend through our various speakers and sessions to show how the power that women possess can be harnessed for the attainment of success.” he stated.
According to him, “The three-day impactful conference and networking event will consolidate on the United Nations 2030 gender parity agenda, with an implementation of this year’s International Women’s Day theme; #BeBoldForChange at a critical time when the contribution of women is most critical.”
He revealed that to show the importance of the Conference, Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo will be the Special Guest of Honour and will open the conference on March 29th 2017.

In her remarks, Member of AWLO’s Board of Trustees, Dr. (Mrs.) Violet Arene, explained that in the last nine years, AWLO has evolved from being merely a non-political advocacy organization to an incubator for fine-tuning forward-looking women who aspire for leadership.
She noted that AWLO is not an elitist organization as it has designed programmes for various segments of the society. She revealed that the Accra, Ghana Conference will be another opportunity for women to acquire knowledge and network with leaders from across the globe.
She explained further that measures were being put in place to kick start a curriculum in conjunction with a University to prepare women for the task of leadership.
Mrs. Maureen Omeibe, Coordinator, AWLO , Lagos Chapter explained that participants of the conference will have a lot to gain from the sessions, adding that the various chapters are mobilizing members to attend because of the tremendous advantage of such a programme.
Also speaking at the occasion, Michael Effiong, Editor, Ovation International, noted that his organization has been partnering with AWLO since inception because of its lofty vision of giving African women the voice and tools to succeed.
He noted that Ovation International which aims at celebrating Africa and Africans worldwide, sees AWLO as a worthy partner because it uses its platform to harness the best and the brightest women in Leadership while also creating avenues to train the future generation who aspire for excellence. He promised that the Ovation Media group will be fully involved in the conference.

The African Women in Leadership Conference (AWLC) 2017 is a three-day women’s leadership, development and empowerment programme open to all African women across the continent and in the Diaspora.
It brings together women from diverse backgrounds to interact, dialogue and discuss issues that are relevant to the achievement of gender parity and to agree on actions that will inspire change.
The Conference will feature speakers such as: Agnes  Emefa  Essah; Marketing Director Vodafone Ghana,  Fatima Alimohamed; CEO African Brand Warrior, Mrs. Dayo Keshi;  DG National Council for Arts & Culture Nigeria, H.E (Dr.) Mbuya Isaac Munlo; Malawian Ambassador to India,  Laila St. Matthew-Daniel; Transformational Strategist/Emotional Therapist.  Other speakers are Renée Boateng: CEO RenéeQ, Dr. Ani Nchiewe, Gugulethu Makhari and Udeme Etibensi.
The plenary sessions will be moderated by Rashida Saani Nasamu: CEO I-ZAR Group and hosted by Michelle Attoh: Director, Emerge Ghana Limited. A one day special “True Women” workshop session on the 31st will be facilitated by Dr. Alaa El-Halwagy; A Business Strategist & Executive Coach – CEO, Innovative Group USA.
The conference will include Networking sessions, Main Conference sessions and a Workshop session.
The main conference session will include speaker presentations, open floor discussions and panel sessions. Other highlights of the conference include a Business Welcome Cocktail, Sight Seeing around the beautiful city of Accra, and musical performances.
The Conference culminates in an Awards Gala Evening where women who have contributed immensely to Africa’s Development and to the advancement of African women’s leadership and development will be honoured.
