When Nigeria’s 83 Years Old Ambassador Assumed Duty in US (Photos)

Nigeria’s 83 years old ambassador to the United States, Mr. Sylvanus Nsofor, has arrived the United States to begin his mission.

Mr. Nsofor was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, but was rejected by the National Assembly. However, when Buhari and the Presidency insisted, Nsofor was confirmed.

Nsofor’s earlier rejection was as a result of the Department of State Services (DSS) advice that the ambassadorial nominee “will not be able to perform the duty of an officer due to his advanced age.”
