The Uyo based Nest of Champions will come under fire as the Super Eagles of Nigeria battle the Chipolopolo of Zambia in a crucial group F to determine who heads to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles with 10 points in the kitty had taken the first bite, humiliating the Zambians in Lusaka by 2 – 1. And the Zambians, who had been training in Ghana in the last one week believe that nothing will make any meaning other than a sweet revenge. They hope to also humiliate the Eagles in Uyo.
Both teams have been talking tough as regards the match, working heavily on each other’s psyche. However Genot Rohr, Eagles sweat merchant, has promised that the day will be taken just as prominent members of the team have noniur the invitation.
The Chipolopolo, on the other hand, are leaving no stone unturned to secure the maximum three points to equal the Eagles’ haul at 10.
But Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, has said that the team knows what is at stake and ready to give their best. He said, “We know how important the match is; that is enough motivation to go all out and give our very best.
“There are several players in this team who have not played at the FIFA World Cup, they want to be there in Russia next year.”
Nigeria and Zambia have met on 17 occasions with Nigeria winning seven and Zambia winning five. Both teams have drawn on five occasions.
