Too easy: Juventus clinch 5th consecutive Serie A title

Juventus have been crowned as Serie A champions for a fifth consecutive time as their closest challengers, Napoli were beaten by Roma 1-0.

A 25th victory in their last 26 Serie A matches meant that the Bianconeri became the first Serie A side to win five consecutive titles.

And one of the stalwarts of their fight back, Leonardo Bonucci has said this win is the most gratifying after many declared their title interest dead back in October when they were languishing in 12th position on the table.

“It’s been a crazy season given everything that has happened,” Bonucci told Mediaset.

“They wrote us off as dead in October, but they forgot that we carry the Juventus Scudetto on our chest.

“We had to change course, the Juventus of the first few months was too bad to be the real one. Credit should be given to the Coach [Max Allegri] who allowed us to think about every game without anxiety.

“No-one expected Juventus to win the Scudetto in April, this will go down in history for the way it came and because it’s the fifth.”
