Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, a former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, has revealed that the same people who killed his former boss were responsible for the murder of the winner of June 12, 1993 presidential election, MKO Abiola.
Al-Mustapha said on Monday, that he would make some shocking and detailed revelations in his new book, Mustapha’s Memoirs, which is still a work in progress.
He said this while addressing journalists in Lagos – where he spoke about his ordeal in detention, Abiola and Abacha as well as former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Al-Mustapha said the same people who told Abiola never to accept any compromise or negotiations would also visit Abacha in the presidential villa and tell him another thing entirely.
He said of all the Yoruba personalities who visited Abiola while in detention, only Oba Tejuosho told him the truth that ‘Abacha was his friend and that he was ready for reconciliation’.
The former Abacha aide said he possesses security footage of these persons who put a wedge between Abiola and Abacha.
Al-Mustapha also challenged Obasanjo to substantiate claims made in his 18-page letter where he alleged that the he was contracted to train a killer squad of 1,000 snipers for former President, Goodluck Jonathan, ahead of the 2015 general elections.
