It was an atmosphere of praise and undiluted happiness as the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijeshland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II joined the Octogenarian club, and celebrated his 35 years on the throne.
Families, friends, people of high social rank and associate of royal fathers gathered at Ilesa-Osun State palatial home to give honour to whom honour is due and give thanks to God for sustaining his life, and making his reign trouble free.
The event, which was held at Kings Event Centre, Ilesa, witnessed the presence of the Osun State Executive Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Titi Tomori, Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Erelu Olushola Obada, Ex-Secretary Osun State Government, Alhaji Fatai Ajibade, Justice Grace Onibokun, Ata Oja of Osogbo, Chairman planning committee and the Sasore of Ilesa, Chief Olatunde Ishola Aluko, the Elerimo of Erimo, Oba Mike Ajayi, Princess Toyin Kolade and many more.
A church service in honour of the octogenarian was held at the Methodist Church (Nigeria) Diocese of Ilesa, with Officiating Ministers; Most Revd. Amos Akindeko, Rev. J. Bola Osunrotimi (JP) and Dr. Samuel C. Kanu Uche (JP).
The Oba, who is known to be a great ruler and an embodiment of entrepreneurial competence had a celebration akin to royal birth because he had exhibited full maturity and wisdom in administering his province, as well as consistently ensuring peace and development, and promoting a strong surge for education and commerce among his people.
We wish the Oba a happy birthday, and more years of successful reign!
