When a man hits 60, he is said to have reached the diamond age, and a lot of pomp and pageantry are involved. That was the case when the amiable former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel celebrated his 60th birthday on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Prestigious Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
To add a touch of spice to the occasion, the politician fondly called OGD used the opportunity to launch a book, “Deciding to become a Daniel” where he chronicled his life and times.
The occasion, which was a gathering of eminent personalities from different parts of the country, including influential politicians, traditional rulers, society big wigs and captains of industry was filled with glamour and colour. Everyone was in their best attires even as the man of the moment and his beautiful wife, Yeye Olufunke Daniel, dazzled all.
The event started with a church service where the celebrant and his family were prayed for and blessed by the annointed man of God, and founder of the Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo.
At the reception venue, guests were treated to sumptuous meals. Among the dignitaries present were Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Abosede Onanuga, former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, Chief Rasaq Okoya and wife, former Head of Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Pastor Tunde Bakare and Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona. Music was provided by the King of world beats, Chief Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), who kept the guests on their feet with scintillating beats and dance steps.
