One Lagos Fiesta Hits Ground Running, Promises to Mesmerise Lagosians

The much expected One Lagos Fiesta, OLF for short, is schedule to hit the ground come Christmas weekend and terminate by New Year weekend. This precisely means that the much sort after grandmaster of all shows will hold between December 24 and December 31, running into the new year 2018.

Briefing newsmen on the modalities for this year’s mega show, the Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Arts and Culture, Mrs. Aramide Giwanson, described the event, which is in its second edition, as the show of all shows, adding that the Lagos State Government has attended to every detail to ensure that a hitch-free, better enjoyed show is packaged this season.

She mentioned as well that the event, which has been themed See, Feel, Explore Lagos will run for eight days  across five different zones including Epe, Badagry, Agege, Victoria Island and Ikorodu.

Mrs. Giwanson was assisted at the briefing by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Tola Adeyemi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Mrs. Kofoworola Arobamise and a host of senior civil servants.

Responding, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, reminded all and sundry of the pride of place Lagos has taken in ensuring that arts and culture are kept alive as they form a part of revenue generation for the state. He noted that Lagos, in meeting the smart city status, has continually lived up to expectation in matters that affect the youths and the young at heart. He reminded that the just concluded COPA Lagos was a great success even as the tournament has become the third Most Important Beach Tournament in the world.

At the briefing were intimidating presence of sponsors of the events including Guaranty Trust Bank represented by Tolulope Onipede; Nigeria Breweries represented by Abayomi Abidapo; JMG with Peculiar Okafor representing and Segun Ogunleye who stood in for Pepsi.

In their eloquent speeches, the sponsors pledged their unalloyed support to the Lagos State Government and the One Lagos Fiesta brand.
