Breaking: Obaseki Sworn in As Edo State Governor

The elected governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Noghese Obaseki, has been sworn-in as the incumbent governor of the state.

Mr. Obaseki, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on September 28, 2016, was looking resplendent in black suit, white shirt and purple tie to match, as he took the oath of office administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Cromwell Idahosa.

He succeeds Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who came to office in November 12, 2008 and was re-elected in 2012.

He followed the swearing in with a prestigious motorcade ride around the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, venue of the epoch event, to inspect a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the Nigerian Police.

The Deputy Governor, Mr. Phillip Shuaibu, was earlier sworn-in.
