I’m relieve with the defeat of Sunshine – Bata
The El-Kanemi Warriors striker, Hussein Bata Muhammad, has expressed victorious happiness after striking a double in his team’s hard-fought 3-2 victory over Sunshine Stars.
The match which took place at El-Kanemi Sports Complex in day 32 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash.
However, the winger revealed that he was relieved with the final result of the five-goal thriller after playing a key role to his team’s victory.
He said, “It was a very difficult game for us, we wanted to prove to people that the draw we got at Shooting Stars wasn’t a fluke.
“There is this sense of relief in me having my team got the maximum points, our position in the table is slightly okay but we have what it takes to climb higher.” He added.
Hard work earned them victory away at Warri Wolves – Akakem
The FC Ifeanyi Ubah midfielder, Onyekachi Akakem, believes that hard work earned them victory away at Warri Wolves.
However, he stated that the game against Warri Wolves wasn’t a stroll in the park, and that the victory manifested out of sheer hard work on the part of the technical crew and the players of his team.
He said, “The team really built upon the Victory against Enugu Rangers and that really raised the team’s confidence. As regards to making the continent, all I can say is that, we can actually win the league if we keep an 100 percent performance considering whoever we are playing.
“With due respect to the other NPFL teams gunning for the converted title this season, it’s still an open race so don’t write us off as contenders already.” He added
More so, ahead of the team’s match-day 33 fixture at home to Wikki Tourist, Akakem claimed that FC Ifeanyi Ubah will do it can secure a win.
“Wikki Tourist are only coming here to help us climb higher on the NPFL ladder rung as we will do everything possible to beat them convincingly then we take it from there, game after game,” he added.
