The outgoing President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Barr. Augustine Alegeh, has revealed that the eleven storey edifice at Abuja, which is the new NBA secretariat about to be commissioned, is a product of continuity.
Speaking exclusively to the Boss at his Ikeja GRA office, the down to earth president, who is billed to leave office at the end of this month (August), having spent a productive two years on the saddle, said that he had to carry on from where his predecessor, Mr. Okey Wali, stopped, noting that if he had been the type that does not like continuity, he probably would have bought another land somewhere, begin a project, which may not even be completed by the time he leaves office.
“The secretariat is a product of continuity. I continued from where my predecessor stopped. As a result, the eleven storey edifice took us just about three years cumulatively,” he said.
He added that if the spirit of continuity, irrespective of who is in power, or who previously left office, is imbibed, the country will definitely develop at a quicker rate.
The secretariat is due for commissioning on Friday, August 12, 2016.
