The law maker representing Epe Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Olusegun ‘Eleniyan’ Olulade, has set up a platform to empower youths. The programme, Youth Empowerment Summit, popularly known as YES was organized by the “Eleniyancare Leadership Foundation” in Epe, Lagos State, and featured over 1000 youths drawn from across the state. The empowerment programme is entitled; “Unlocking the Potentials Within, Making Your Ideas Work”.
The session was anchored by Ibrahim Owolabi, a young motivational speaker, he did a good job in exposing the youths to the experiences of their forebears, and how they achieved greatness in their various chosen careers.
The speakers at the event were the Publisher, Ovation Magazine, Bashorun Dele Momodu, Chioma Chukwuka, kate Henshaw, Hon. Desmond Elliot, Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson, Alhaji (Chief) Akanni Seriki and Oba S.T.A Odukoya.
It created a means of supporting some participants in growing their entrepreneurial vision and goals to an attainable status of success. The major areas that were highlighted were Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, ICT, Entertainment and Sports.
The Chairman of the event, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, who was represented by the Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Prince Babatunde Durosimi-Etti, disclosed that only creative unemployed youths would benefit from the first tranche of the N25 billion State Employment Trust Fund loan scheme.
“His Excellency has said that the disbursement procedure of the fund would soon be out,” he said, adding that “there will be opportunity for start offs. There will be opportunity for existing artisans and entrepreneurs and in addition, there will be opportunity for small businesses”
