Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar visited the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, where he held a closed-door meeting with APC leadership led by the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
Atiku arrived at about 1pm and first met behind closed doors with the national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, for 20 minutes before other national officers of the party joined the meeting.
Accompanying the former vice president to the meeting was the Adamawa State Governor, Muhammad Bindow Jibrila.
After the meeting, none of the participants addressed the press but it is believed that the agenda was funding for the party.
President Muhammadu Buhari has not given financial support to the party since getting into power, asking the party leadership to source outside of government for funding of its activities.
With two important governorship races scheduled for later this year in Edo and Ondo States, the party is in dire need of resources, and may have reached out to Atiku.
