Facts have emerged as to how the just commissioned Francis Adedoyin Olusiji Owosina building was saved from being demolished by the Federal Government.
Speaking at the handing over and naming ceremony of the building, the Medical Director of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, Dr. O. O. Odunubi, narrated that the building was stalled from being built for over 20 years following a deck collapse experienced its building.
According to him: “The Federal Government after constituting a committee on the issue directed that it be demolished. It was the UNILAG Consult that saw the need for the building to continue, and advised the government. That was the saving grace.
Dr. Owosina was the Medical Director of the hospital between 1977 and 1989.
