According to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, former United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, has not given any evidence to support allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against three House of Representatives members.
The legislators, Mohammed Garba Gololo, Samuel Ikon and Mark Gbillah were alleged to have committed the offences during an official visit to the US in April 2016.
“He [Entwistle] did not present any corroborative evidence and did not give the impression that there was any,” Onyeama said .
“He did not make any allegations against the members, he was just saying allegations were made and he confirmed they were made. The house keeper (who claimed a member grabbed her in the hotel) refused to testify further.
“I was surprised the main complainant failed to testify when approached by her government,” he added.
Meanwhile, Entwistle has failed to appear before the House to give evidence to support the claims.
