Only a good writer celebrates cultural and political history and his society at large in write ups. Hon. Femi Kehinde, no doubt, is one of the good and creative writers Nigeria can boast of. His style of writing opens the gate of history and expansively explains every question one may think of. In “OF RUST AND GOLD”, he didn’t disappoint.
It was a lovely night at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, Oyo State when Hon. Femi Kehinde gave an insight on what the book was about while hosting a collection of cerebral minds.
A collection of articles, the book exposes the cultural and political history of western Nigeria, contemporary Nigerian politics as well as the entrepreneurial spirits of early Nigerian traders and industrialists. It sheds more light on the early life of Ibadan and how it served as the administrative centre and capital of the western region since 1949.
It was a beautiful evening as everyone who was someone attended the event, such as Rt. Hon Ghali Umar Naaba, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Prof. Adebayo Williams, Publisher of Ovation International, Bashorun Dele Momodu represented by the Editor, Michael Effiong, Elder Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi of Akosa Publishers Ltd among many other notable dignitaries.
