At last, Ali Modu-Sheriff had his way on Monday. After four attempts on Monday, he finally gained entry into the national secretariat of the party.
Sheriff tried three different times, and on the fourth time, the police detachment stationed in and around the PDP Wadata Plaza were withdrawn on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase.
Sheriff was ousted during the national convention of the PDP last May but continues to insist that he is the chairman until 2018. In his place, a former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi was selected as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, pending when a proper National Convention would be conducted.
