The week long Felabration 2016 edition to celebrate the life and times of the Afro Beat creator, Fela Anikulakpo-Kuti, concluded its third night a few hours ago with a bang.
The night, which was masterfully crafted by the harbinger of laughter, Omobaba, featured the best of Nigeria’s fingers on the wheel of steel.
The Disc Jockeys (DJs), who took turns to recreate their mastery of the turn table, had the capacity filled African Shrine, venue of the fiesta, dancing non-stop to the beats till the early hours of the morning.
The event, however, was not just about DJs as very many varieties and competitions were introduced to spice up the evening. Such varieties include rapping competition, dancing competition and a raffle which were sponsored one of the biggest partners of the fiesta, Techno, except for the rapping which the compere, Omobaba sponsored.
Omobaba, who was at his best on the night, supervised what could be possibly classified as one of the best performances to celebrate ‘Ebami Eda’, who died in October, 1997.
The event continues.
