Death or No Death, Davido Lives the Life, Shuts Down Africa

By Eric Elezuo

The ‘If’ crooner, Davido, who has been under fire in recent times following alleged complicity in the death of his friend and colleague, Tagbo, has not let the negative protocol come between his career, as he is presently turning the African continent upside down with good music, drawing followers in his wake.

Despite the odds against him even as the Nigerian Police indicted him severally, he has not only managed to scale through the odds, but has also been doing what he knows how to do best, entertain!

As far as Davido, who is also known as Omo Baba Olowo (OBO), death or no death, life goes on, and when life goes on, shows go on and people must get entertainment and get equal value for their time, and yes, money.

OBO, whose real name is David Adeleke and has christened himself Davido, has again latently summoned the attention of the whole world when he killed and shut down a 50,000 capacity stadium in Sierra Leone as he continues his African tour having completed a Nationwide and World tour.

He has played in Kenya and is still traversing the continent doing what he knows best.

It really is his year!

It will be recalled that Davido came under serious attack from the public, with the Police shinning the light, when a member of his crew, Tagbo, died on his birthday, after consuming 40 shots of tequila.

The scandal was followed up instantly with the deaths of his Disc Jockey, Olu Dapo Abiodun also known as DJ Olu and another member of the crew, Amaechi. They died in side their car right in the car park. The cause of their deaths is still unknown.

Davido had to shelve his participation at the Felabration carnival to mourn his friends, but could not put off the African tour.
