The duo of Ibrahim Sais and Taofeek Babatunde and others now at large were arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja today. The defendants were arraigned on three count charge bordering on theft.
The defendants allegedly stole a NITEL underground cable valued at N5 million. The defendants also allegedly offered Police detectives over N400,000 to evade arrest.
They were said to have committed the offences around 2pm on August 15, 2016 at the Ikeja Magisterial district. They however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The defence counsels, Barr E.K Dada and Barr Kayode, prayed the court to admit them on bail, and there was no objection from the prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Imhonwa.
The Presiding Judge, Magistrate Bola Osunsanmi, granted them bail of N500,000 each with two sureties. The case was then adjourned till November 2 for mention.
