Acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is set to finally sign the 2017 budget after months of delay.
The absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who is on medical treatment in London has stalled the signing of the bill with conflicting reports indicating the acting president would either sign it or it will be delayed till Buhari returned.
On Monday, June 12 however, it was revealed via a tweet via the official handle of the Senate president that Osinbajo will sign the 2017 budget and will be joined by Senate president, Bukola Saraki at the Aso Rock Villa by 3:00pm.
Daily Trust reports that the venue for the event is Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja and the time is 3 pm. “All grey areas have been sorted and the budget is ready for signing into law any time soon,” Timothy Golu, a member of the House of Representatives, who chairs committee on legislative budget and research said.
