Former Minister and Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Ojo Madueke, is dead, according to family sources.
We gathered that Madueke allegedly collapsed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja shortly after arriving from the United States of America where he had gone to attend a relative’s graduation ceremony and was rushed to the Turkish Hospital, Abuja where he was confirmed dead.
Madueke, was born May 6, 1945 in Abia State and was appointed Culture and Tourism Minister by President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 and Minister of Transport in 2001.
He was also appointed Foreign Minister on July 26, 2007 by late former President Umaru Yar’Adua.
As Minister of Transport he got the nick name ‘Ojo oni Keke’ for advocating for the use of bicycles to reduce traffic jams on the road. More details
