The African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO), an umbrella body of women of substance, who have carved a niche for themselves in their various areas of endeavour, is set to hold its maiden edition of Miss AWLO Beauty Pageant.
The much talked about pageantry is billed to hold in July as part of the mouth watering activities lined up to celebrate the organisation’s 10 years of existence.
Speaking exclusively to TheBoss Newspapers, the Founder/President of AWLO, Dr. Elisha Attai, confirmed that the event, which is part of the three days long 10th year anniversary, has come to stay, and will present an opportunity for a young, groom-able leader to emerge.
“Miss AWLO Pageant experience is a like launching pad for a young leader; an opportunity to be an ambassador of the organisation,” Attai said.
He added that to spice up the first class event, a team of highly qualified Nigerians and beyond, who has distinguished themselves in the beauty business, has been assembled. The team will be led by the ageless beauty and cover page girl, who was a onetime Miss Nigeria (1984), Rosemary Okeke.
Highly excited Okeke said she is ready for the show, which is expected to produce a ‘quintessential woman’.
“I am glad to team up with AWLO to put together an empowering experience for young women. We are looking forward for the quintessential woman,” Okeke said.
