At last: APC Disciplinary Committee invites Muiz Banire over Members’ Petition (see letters)

The Disciplinary Committee of  the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward C, Mushin Local Government has invited embattled National Legal Adviser of the party, Dr. Muiz Banire, SAN to come and defend himself following a formal letter of complaint submitted by some Concerned members of the ward.

The letter made available to The Boss and signed by Messers Olukayode  Tunde Tolu and  Adedeji Adebayo on behalf of the Concerned members reads in part:

“We, members of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), Ward C, Mushin Local Government, Lagos Nigeria whose names and signatures appear hereunder hereby submit this Complaint against Dr.  Muiz Adeyemi Banire (hereinafter “The Member”) and humbly request your committee to immediately constitute a Disciplinary Committee to examine, hear and determine our complaints not later than 7 days hereof as prescribed by the Constitution of our great party.

The 10 different complaints raised against Dr. Banire include that he is not a resident of Ward C contrary to Art. 9 (1) (i) and (ii) of the Constitution.

The also alleged the Banire has continuously been absent from Ward Meetings for more than two years, has been engaged in reckless media campaign against the party, its organs, leaders and functionaries which is likely to embarrass the party and bring it into hatred,  has failed to participate in Ward activities such as rallies, campaigns, has been encouraging Court actions against the party, failed to pay party levies and dues and that he collected campaign materials during the 2015 elections and failed to deploy same.

They asserted that  as a result of these infractions,  in accordance with the Constitution of the party, he should be suspended for 10 years, disbarred from holding any party office for 10 years  and debarred from contesting for any party office for 10 years.

Following these weighty allegations, a Ward Disciplinary Committee was set up and a letter dated July 11, 2017 was sent to Dr Banire through his chambers in Ikeja, where he was invited to appear at 10am to Mushin Sports Centre, Bishop Aggrey Memorial Sec. School, Ilasamaja on Monday August 14, 2017.

The Letter signed by the Secretary, Mr. Badiru Olaide stated that “ the business of the day is to examine, hear and determine the complaints filed against you by concerned members of the Party”

International observers, interested members of the public and the media have been invited to also witness the sitting.
