Acclaimed movie maker, Kunle Afolayan, got a deserving round of applause from film critics and movie journalists today at during the Press Screening of his lates movie “THE CEO”
The screening was the second stage of the premiere of the much-awaited movie. The event, which lasted within a space of 45 minutes had filmmakers, friends, sponsors and many others who stormed the Silverbird Galleria, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State screaming for more. What Afolayan brought to the table was gripping and it will definitely be another chart-topping block buster.
The film rides on a pan-African marketing prospect, having pooled its cast from countries such as Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Benin Republic, Ivory Coast and Morocco among others.
After the press screening, Afolayan gave credit to the people that supported him all through the production, and invited some of them and sponsors to speak.Those who shared their THE CEO experience included, Tunde Babalola (the scriptwriter); Arthur Dieffenthaler (Commercial Director of Airfrance), Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu (Regional Manager of African Magic), , Mrs. Uche C. Nwuka (Representative of Bank of Industry), and Wale Ojo, one of the lead actors.
Afolayan revealed details of the much anticipated in-flight premiere of The CEO which will be thw first of its kind in the Nigerian Movie industry.
The event will be held aboard an Airfrance flight to Paris, where the film will headline the prestigious Nollywood Week, Paris, a film festival organized by French-based association Okada Media headed by Serge Noukoue and Nadira Shakur.
The event will begin with a red carpet show at the check-in counter of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
The fun will continue with a cocktail party at the boarding gate and a red carpet will be run in the plane. Thereafter, the film will be screened on board the plane where other passengers can partake in the show. This premiere of THE CEO was carefully conceptualized to create fun and buzz-as well as break records even in Hollywood.
It is sure going to be a unique experience having an after party happening 35,000ft to 40,000ft above the sea level.
Corroborating Afolayan’s enthusiastic expose on the premiere, Commercial Manager, Air France/KLM Arthur Dieffenthaler, noted that there had never been an in-flight premiere of such, even in Hollywood or Bollywood, disclosing that this is the first time a Nigerian film will be shot at the Charles De Gualle Airport, Paris, France, expressing optimism that the partnership will go on for a long time.
The movie which is aimed at breaking boundaries, bridging the long gap between pan-African countries and experimenting to develop value for Africa cinema presents a multinational casts.
The characters were popular actors and actresses from their various countries which will bring a sense of relativity to the audience. The actors include; Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and entertainer from Benin Republic, Angelique Kidjo, Haitan actor and model, Jimmy Jean-Louis, consummate actor, Wale Ojo, French-Ivorian actress and model, Aurelie Eliam; South African actor and presenter, Nicolaos Panagiotopoulos; Nigerian actress, Kemi Lala Akindoju; Moroccan star, Fatim Layachi; Kenyan actor Peter King; Nigerian Actress, Hilda Dokubo among others.
The CEO will be distributed in Nigeria by Silverbird Cinema, adding that preparations are on ground for a massive festival routing. Other schedules of The CEO include a Lagos Premiere scheduled for July 10, 2016 to be followed by cinema release on July 15, 2016.
