Annual Gani Fawehinmi’s Lecture Holds January 15

The 14th edition of the Annual Gani Fawehinmi’s Lecture is to hold on Monday, January 15 2018 with the theme Federalism, Restructuring and Good Governance: Striking a Balance.

The 2018 edition of the lecture was disclosed by the Mr. Adesina Ogunlana, Chairman, Ikeja Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), where the late law prodigy belong during his active days.

The event is billed to take place at the Marquee of the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, by 10am with the former Dean, Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Ademola Popoola as the guest speaker. Other speakers are Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, Lady Onyeka Onwenu and Afrobeat singer and Fela Anikulakpo’s son, Seun Kuti.

Elaborating on the event, Mr. Ogunlana intimated that free book-gifts will be given to the first 100 guests at the venue.

Ogunlana explained that the choice of January 15 was because the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi was called to the Bar on January 15, 1966. The same day the first military coup was staged in Nigeria.
