Aisha Buhari donates N30m to Chibok parents

Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari yesterday donated over N30 million cash to parents and guardians of the 219 abducted Chibok schoolgirls in Maiduguri.

Mrs Buhari made the donation of N139, 000 cash in envelopes to each of the registered 219 parents and guardians of the Chibok school girls from 12 wards of Chibok local government area of Borno state at the multi-purpose hall of Government House, Maiduguri.

The president’s wife who was represented by the Wife of Borno State Governor, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima urged the parents to consider what happened as a an act of God and destiny, appealing to them to continue to pray for their children’s return as government was making concerted effort to bring back home the missing schoolgirls to them.

She added that her pet project, Future Assured Humanitarian Activities, was initiated to support the helpless, orphans, widows, bereaved and people like them who are traumatized .

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state described the abduction of the Chibok school girls by the Boko Haram terrorists as a condemnable act and called on all and sundry globally to condemn it.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy , Alhaji Usman Mamman Durkwa also commended the support and efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari towards restoring peace and stabilizing the country security- wise while applauding the security agents in the country, particularly, the military in the fight against terrorism and insurgency.

He called on people to pray for the return of peace to the state and the missing Chibok school girls.

Former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs. Pauline Tallen and Member representing Chibok, Damboa and Gwoza  Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Dr. Asabe Vilita Bashir assured the parents that as a concerned mother, the wife of the present and government are with them and mindful of their plight.

Bashir urged them to judiciously make use of the financial assistance given to them, exercise restraint and pray for the return of their children.
