Barely 10 days after the first incidents of earth tremor in Kwoi and environs, another one on Tuesday, hit Kwoi, headquarters of Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Chairman of the local government had disclosed that over 15 incidents of tremor hit the town during the period of the first scare.
DAILY POST reports that Tuesday’s incident forced many people who had earlier refused to vacate the town to flee for safety.
Meanwhile, experts at the Kaduna State University (KASU), have said that the constant incident of earth tremor in Kwoi town may give way to a major earthquake, urging the government to place the community on a watch list for a possible evacuation of residents in the near future.
DAILY POST also gathered that Tuesday’s incident came with heavy vibration at about 9am, after an earlier ones on Monday at about 3am and 6am.
Schools quickly asked students to return to their homes and shut their gates, while several residents made frantic moves to evacuate families from the troubled community.
A community leader in Fada, who resides close to the Chief of Jaba’s Palace, Mallam Suleiman Yakubu, said, “Today (Tuesday) the tremor happened again. And today’s tremor was very loud than the previous ones. Some schools were forced to close and they sent their students back home.”
