3 suicide bombers attack University of Maiduguri, 1 dead


A security guard at the University of Maiduguri was killed in the wee hours of today, Saturday, May 13, when three suicide bombers hit the university, The Boss newspaper has learnt.

The incidents happened at the Work department of the University of Maiduguri at about 1:06 am killing the suicide bombers who strapped IEDs to their bodies.

“A male and female suicide bomber struck at the mechanical works department of the university. One security guard was killed and a soldier injured. The injured soldier has been taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital,” a source was quoted by Cable.

The suicide bombers were also killed in the attacks, according to PRNigeria.

Hauwa Babagana an undergraduate student told Saharareporters that there was panic everywhere “we heard loud explosions in just five minutes interval so there was confusion because it was in the middle of the night when everyone was busy studying.” Hauwa said.

Meanwhile, Boko Haram Sect has released a new video vowing to bomb Abuja and other Nigerian cities.

The video, released by Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida, saw the three commanders of Islamist terrorist group recently released last weekend in exchange for 82 Chibok girls dismissing most of the claims by the Nigerian government.
