A Third Force Strategic Alliance Team for the 2019 Elections has been formed. It is led by spokesperson, Prof. Anthony Kila. The formation of the new pan-Nigerian political coalition, called Alliance for the Defence of Democracy (ADD), was held at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.
The coalition was formed as a force against the disregard of democratic principles and constitutionally induced process, by the government of the day, with special mention to the case of the suspemded Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mr. Walter Onnoghen.
While addressing a group of like minds and members of the press, the convener, who is also the spokesperson of the group, Prof. Anthony Kila, emphasized the non-partisanship non-ethnic status of the coalition. He added that the group, which is made up of leaders of conscience from all walks of life, is not just about the coming elections. He noted that the main goal of the ADD is to ensure that the democratic institutions and framework of the nation are defended and upheld.
Two committees were subsequently put in place ahead of the coalition’s mass demonstration and protest, sheduled to take place on a yet to be announced date.
The coalition hopes to make impact in the few days leading up to the presidential election slated for February 16th, using technological tools to reach as many persons as possible.

Promise Adewusi, Secretary of Strategy Committee, NIM, Dr. Peter Omoijiade, National Publicity Secretary of People’s Trust, Mr. Olusegun Awe-Obe, former Anambra State Governorship candidate, Chief Marcel Okeke, Communications & Development Consultant, Tony Iyare, NIM Youth Leader, Lady Funke Awolowo, Mr. Abayomi Rotimi Mighty among others.
