Olamide releases Criteria

Meanwhile, back home in Nigeria, the music industry is bursting daily with new songs from artistes and rapper and ‘wo’ crooner, Olamide a. k. a ‘Olamide Badoo’ is not left out. The rapper has recently released another scintillating track for his lovers titled ‘Criteria’. Produced by Pheelz, the song is a love-enveloped song and Olamide shows us that he can do something different and unique.

To say the rapper is currently ablaze would be underscoring and understating the obvious. This is the 3rd song from the YBNL boss in the space of 2 weeks! The other songs include ‘Puna’ and ‘Motigbana’.

Davido features Duncan Mighty, Peruzzi in latest release

In the same vein, one of Nigeria’s most loved music act, Davido, the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ has teamed up with ‘Port Harcourt boy’, Duncan Mighty and the ‘Pre bang bang’ crooner, Peruzzi to release a new song titled AZA. The track which was produced by Fresh VDM under the aegis of the Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) group is bound to get the listener thumping his feet, clicking his finger and shaking his head.

Duncan Mighty responds to allegations of wife battery

… Don’t mind them, Davido counsels

Interestingly, just few days after the release of the AZA song, reports began to fly in accusing Duncan Mighty of beating his wife. The musician in reply to these allegations wrote a lengthy text where he asked people to desist from spoiling and defaming his name. He noted that God is responsible for his success and people should refrain from pedaling rumors and wrong information about him.

In reply to Duncan Mighty’s Instagram post, Davido wrote: “If you mind dem baba you go tire….nah me dey suffer for deir hand pass.”

Dbanj shows off new hair-do

The beautiful thing about life is that we always forge ahead and the Koko Master, D’banj seems to be putting the death of his son behind him as he took to his social media page to share photos of him wearing dreadlock hair in his vacation at a town called Ochos Rios in Jamaica.

Nollywood loses legendary actor

Sadly, while there seems to be pop, glitz, glamour, and gallantry in the music industry, the nation’s film industry, Nollywood seems to be going through a rough phase of mourning. This is due to the death of one of the industry’s finest actors, Chike Osuji.

In a released statement by the Special Assistant to the President, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on Media and Publicity, Ochendo McSmith, the 65 year old legendary actor embraced the arms of death in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

Osuji featured in a number of movies before his death such as ‘The Kingdom on Fire’, ‘The Governor’, ’40 days in the Wilderness’, ‘The Book of Harragon’ amongst others.

We pray his soul rest in perfect peace.

Finally! Falz meets Pdiddy in California

Who says dreams don’t come through? At least they certainly do in the place of popular ‘bhad guy’, Folarin Falana a. k. a Falz. The rapper cum actor finally met with American rapper, singer, producer, actor and entrepreneur, Sean Combs aka Puff Daddy or better known as Pdiddy.

Falz took to his Instagram page where he shared pictures and videos of himself and PDiddy in Los Angeles, California.

This meeting is coming just few weeks after Pdiddy lauded the Nigerian rapper for his parody work of Childish Gambino’s This is America with his titled ‘This is Nigeria’.

Pdiddy’s comment might very well have served as the catalyst for this meeting.

In one of the videos the rapper gives Pdiddy a new name to the admiration of the viewer. The new names is Oluwadiddy and maybe it is a way of drawing the 48 year old into the Yoruba cicle.

With this meeting, one can posit that our Nigerian artistes are looking to push their work and ply their trade in the international scene. We can only wish them the best.

Puff Daddy is not just anybody in the industry. The rapper is viewed as the second most richest hip-hop artiste by Forbes with a net worth of ²N300 billion.
